Why I Teach

I am a Michigan-licensed K-8 teacher with a Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan and four years of experience teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in Ann Arbor Public Schools. I currently serve as an assistant reading interventionist at King Elementary, where my work is grounded in the Science of Reading through the completion of the two-year LETRS training. I have also completed a 30-hour professional development course in structured numeracy, bringing the same research-backed approach to math instruction. Before my career in Michigan, I spent three years in South Korea teaching English and studying Korean — an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for what it feels like to be a learner. Above all, I am passionate about building genuine connections with students and helping them discover confidence in themselves as lifelong learners.
